Amendment C157 seeks to introduce a heritage overlay to the Peter Lalor Housing Estate Precinct. However, a vocal protest by Lalor residents is seeking to block it. The proposal, intended to preserve the precinct’s historical value, would affect almost 140 houses and parkland in and around the Vasey Ave and Station and Middleton streets’ residential triangle. 141 individual submissions against the overlay were received, including three petitions. Seven submissions including one from the Trust support the proposal.
