Iconic view saved
We’re skipping with joy over our recent win at VCAT. The National Trust lodged an objection to a permit application to a new apartment tower next door to the Skipping Girl sign, which would have blocked views of the iconic neon landmark. VCAT agreed with the National Trust’s concerns, and now the third floor of the building will be pushed back from the street frontage (or ‘podium’ of the tower) so that people travelling east down Victoria Street from the city towards Little Audrey will still be able to see her.
